Prison Ministry
Through the Lord’s wonderful providence, the CLDA has been involved in spreading God’s Word in prisons across Canada. In 1996, our prisons began requesting increasing numbers of the Daily Diary, a small pocket calendar with a special focus on the Lord's Day and a scripture verse for each day of the week. While many Canadians seem disinterested in learning about what God's Word has to say, it has been most encouraging that the Lord has opened this door of outreach in our correctional institutions.

What does our Prison Ministry do?

-
We provide Daily Diarys with a scripture verse for each day of the week and a special focus on the Lord's Day.
-
Diaries are distributed to nearly every prison in Canada and provide great assistance for chaplains.
-
English, French, and now Spanish versions are distributed
-
Approximately 170,000 Devotional Diaries are published each year!
-
Bible Correspondence Courses developed by experienced pastors are offered. All inmates who take on these Bible study courses receive a mentor who not only marks their work but also engages with them through letter correspondence.
-
Weekly Bible studies, during which volunteers on behalf of the Canadian Lord's Day Association visit inmates. There, they conduct verbal instruction not only about the Lord's Day but also regarding what is necessary for salvation through Jesus Christ.
We encourage chaplains, inmates, and family members to contact us if they are interested in learning more. We often hear about the important role these efforts play in nurturing a strong character for post-prison life.
We are heartened by letters indicating that the Lord has blessed these means to the mental and spiritual welfare of many souls.
