The Lord's Day

Preserving & Promoting The Sanctity of

Canada's rich history includes observing the first day of the week as the Lord's Day. The Canadian Supreme Court's repealing of the Lord’s Day Act in 1985 marked the beginning of a gradual eroding of the foundation of Canadian society. It is increasingly apparent that Canada is experiencing great spiritual poverty, which has demoralized our nation. This void in life, especially among our youth, underscores the necessity to truly keep the Lord's Day holy.

For nearly 40 years, the CLDA serves as an ongoing Christian witness to the importance of the Lord's Day in Canada. We are committed to raising awareness within our communities about the sanctification of the Lord’s Day.

Our Mission

  1. Provide educational and instructive information to All Canadians. This also includes businesses, charities, institutions, inner city youth, and homeless shelters.

  2. Lobby and educate government officials at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

  3. Connect with influencers and business leaders to spread the word about the importance of keeping the Lord's Day holy and the benefits it provides for both business and society as a whole.

  4. Strengthen and nurture the traditional keeping of the Lord's Day holy among church communities, Christian schools, youth groups, and home school groups.

Currently, we offer:

  • Information to assist businesses and individuals about the benefits of keeping the Sabbath day holy

  • Speaking engagements for church groups, schools, youth groups, and correctional facilities.

  • Educational Bible Study courses for Sunday and weekday studies.

  • Informational tracts and bulletins available on our website.
